 I love you my spork

This week was wild. I love it here and I've never been so tired. The amount of nights this week that I was in my own bed was 2. We had a whole lot of exchanges and weird circumstances so there's that. We so worked so so hard when we weren't dealing with weird circumstances or sleeping in other people's beds. I think I've grown grey hair this week.

MILAGRITOS:
  • We had about a million moments this week that just reminded me that God was real. So many stopping to knock random doors that people really needed us in that moment, knocking random doors and the people didn't need us in that moment but it led us to the place where we needed to be to meet the people who needed God in that moment, just a whole lot of goodness from God this week.

JAJAJAJAJAJAJAs of the week:
  • We had a mission leadership conference this week in Montevideo. And I live 4.5 hours from Montevideo now, so I had to get up at 3:45am to catch a bus to get there on time. The only thing was I couldn't go with my companion because shes not a leader and the other leader lives 3 hours away from me and was taking another bus. So that left me one option, sleep in the other hermanas house and sneak out at 4am and meet up with the elders to go catch our bus. So catch me and two elders walking the streets of 33 at 4am. I literally was praying no one would recognize us as missionaries cause there were only like 2 people outside but someone did in fact know who we were and did in fact ask a lot of questions which we could not answer cause we were gonna be late to the bus.
  • One of the sisters in my zone showed us a video with the song "spooky scary skeletons" and one of the sisters from Guatemala who doesn't speak English the next day was walking around singing "spooky spooky spooky" in the tune of spooky scary skeletons.
  • The same sister from Guatemala had apparently learned a bunch of pet names in English from one of her comps (dear, honey, love, babe) and was telling us all the ones she knew and in the middle of her list she said "spork" and honestly I have not laughed that hard in a really very long time. Respect for the gringa who taught her that spork was a name you should call your boyfriend.
  • My comp attempting to say the word literally.
  • Apparently bagels do not exist in Spain. This has led to Hermana Dominguez attempting to say she wants bagels every day but she always forget what it's called and she has now called them boogles, boggles, beegles, and blugars.
  • We had a fun experience this week where we stopped by this house and we only had an address and a name and the dude who answered the door just happened to be the name that lived at that address. Almost never happens. We asked if we could come in and he said yeah and we taught a lesson but I got weird vibes from him from the beginning. He was just lookin at us in a way that you probably shouldn't look at sister missionaries. Well, we invited him to the stake conference this weekend and he said he'd come, so we stopped by his house before and walked there with him. He got bored halfway through the meeting and started to scroll on his phone, and then busted up laughing. He kinda nudged me and showed me a picture of the day before, when me and Hermana Dominguez were praying, he had taken a picture of us with our heads bowed and eyes closed. It was super creepy but it was so random I just about lost it there in the middle of stake conference. He then sent us love notes that night over text so I think we will have to stop teaching him and inviting him to things. I hope you know I really almost did ask for him to send us the picture but I chickened out.

SHPIRITUAL SHPEEL:

Tbh I have been so busy I haven't even had time to think. So a deep profound spiritual shpeel will not be coming. BUT, here's a scripture I read and LOVED this week -

"For he is the same yesterday, today, and forever; and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that they repent and come unto him. For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round." 1 Nephi 10:18-19

We have a way set before us. From before this world, God gave us a path to walk. That path involves more blessings, more joy, and more goodness than we are even capable of creating ourselves. The ONLY way we can reach that potential is through repentance, and in diligently seeking the things of God. If we wanna be happy, awesome. We can walk our own path. There will be some pretty cool things on that path. But if we want everlasting joy, welp, there's a path se before us filled with so much more than we can imagine. So maybe we should repent. And take advantage of the atonement in our lives. There's some big giant eternal rewards if we do.

That's about it, love you all!! Get some sleep this week!
