*bomb goes off* ... "Nah we got more important things so to do"

HELLO HELLO!! Hope y'all are doing so good! This week was a great one!

MILAGRITOS:
  • We just watched this week as God worked miracle after miracle in our lives and the lives of our friends. ESPECIALLY the family that we're teaching. The parents told us that they couldn't come to church, because of work, but all the kids really really wanted to come. So we came up with a whole plan to walk to their house (45 minute walk) with a member, walk to the church, and then walk them back after church. Then Saturday night our member friend texted us and essentially said "hey hermanas so I am willing to walk all the way to their house and back twice but I really don't want to, so essentially I just asked my aunt and she can drive them to church" A WHOLE MIRACLE, NO??? So 5 of the 7 kids came to church, and loved every second. They were so cute and obedient and learning new things and with SO much energy. By the end they were running laps around the church, but the ward just loves them and it was so so good. The only bad part was that we didn't know why 2 of the kids didn't come, but their mom texted us after and said that the member who was driving them didn't know there was two more kids, so when they left, the oldest girl was crying that she couldn't go, and one of the little boys went running as fast as he could after the car, but it was too far away. Anyway, so that literally breaks my heart SO much. But it was SUCH a testament to me of the importance of church. These kids just LOVE the church. Every week they just read the scriptures and beg to go to church and do everything they can to make it happen. Do we love church that much? Are most of us taking for granted that we can drive 2 minutes to church? Are we literally SO sad when we can't go to church? Yeah. Thats what I thought. Let's appreciate church a little more.
  • We found out our good friend Daniel is going to institute! Honestly, this might not be a big deal for some people, but dang. If you had told me the first time I met him that one day he would be going to institute of his own accord, I don't know if I would have believed you. But look at that. God is good.

JAJAJAJAJAJAJAs of the week:
  • We were in the middle of a lesson when I swear to you a literal BOMB went off. The whole house shook and it was SO loud and then a car alarm started going off and it was all chaotic outside, and then our friend said "UNA BOMBA!!" (A BOMB!!) and we all just stared at each other until she shrugged her shoulders and said "well it's okay, we have more important things to do". And continues reading the verse she was reading. Anyway let's all have the faith of our good friend Isabel but also maybe if bombs go off let's go help people with that. After the lesson we walked outside and we didn't see any evidence of any bomb so we still have no idea what happened.
  • So idk if most of you know what a capybara is, but it's been my favorite animal for a long while. Like, since I was in 3rd grade. I have since found out that capybaras are native to Uruguay. Anyway, so my dream in my mission became to meet a capybara, which several of the members have really made fun of me for, and also given me suggestions on how I can find them. Well, this got brought up with some of my fave members. And they told me "well I don't know how you can meet one, but we have some in the fridge if you wanna eat it" so yeah. I ate capybara for the first time. Tbh it's not that great ahahahaha.
  • I ate a hot dog that was 2% hot dog and 98% guacamole. Called a Chilean completo I guess. Not too shabby.

SHPIRITUAL SHPEEL:

Okay how many of you know what the word reconcile means? Yeah I thought I did too.  But turns out I did not. IT MEANS "made compatible or consistent, make one thing compatible with another, bring into consonance or accord" aka: accommodate, concilate, harmonize, resign, or submit.

SO ESSENTIALLY, there's a scripture in Jacob 4:11 that says -
"Wherefore, beloved brethren, BE RECONCILED unto him through the atonement of Christ, his Only Begotten Son, and ye may obtain a resurrection, according to the power of the resurrection which is in Christ, and be presented as the first-fruits of Christ unto God, having faith, and obtained a good hope of glory in him before he manifesteth himself in the flesh."

SO ESSENTIALLY, we need to align/submit our will with God's. Make it one and the same. With that, we can harmonize our works. Our works aren't going to be the same works as God's works, but they will be working together to achieve the same goal, so it will be harmonized. After all, God has said "my work and my glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man". So how are we going to become like God if that's not our end goal too?

SO ESSENTIALLY, how do we do that? Well, look at those next few words "through the atonement of Christ." We can use the atonement of Christ to change the way we think, change the way we act, change the way we treat other people, all until those changes lead us to becoming more like God. So go reconcile yourself with God. It literally says you get eternal life if you do. So, seems like a good idea to me.

That's all for today, have SUCH a good week!! I love you all dearly and God loves you more!
