Are there any CHICAS???
Hey!!
Week full of miracles YET AGAIN. God is so good. It's so fun to get a
front row seat to all that goodness, right here in the middle of a
random tiny town in Uruguay. God loves His kids.
We had a zone conference this week, and I was so spiritually filled. One thing I realized during it, as a pretty random thought (which I have learned for me, are the pretty spiritual ones) that when I hang out with people, I become a lot more like them. I know this applies to everyone, but sometimes its like extreme with me ahaha. Every friend Ive had, I become like them, family too, and this gets especially bad with companions, because I spend 24/7 with them. This happens especially if I love this person and want to be their friend because I see so much good in them and want to have that in my life, so I try to emulate that. Well? How do we apply that to the gospel? Were all here trying to become more like Christ right? Every day its something I talk about, try to help to people become more like Christ. And how do we become more like Him? Well we make Him our best friend of course. Get to know Him. Like, really know Him. Listen to His stories, the ones He tells to you now, and remember the ones Hes already told. Have inside jokes. Learn His humor and adopt it. Love the things He loves, and forgive when you dont understand why Hes doing the things Hes doing. Give thanks for everything Hes done. Tell Him you love Him. Talk to Him. Tell Him all your secrets and let Him hear all your rants. Learn about His strengths, His attributes, pick your favorites, and adopt them. Then pick your least favorites and adopt those too. See the good in Him (spoiler alert: Hes all good.) And be loyal to Him. If Hes your best friend you better not take that lightly. Trust in Him. Give Him gifts, and accept His gifts. And then? Add some friends into your friend group. Brag about Him. Cause Hes kinda awesome, so maybe let all your other friends know that. And then once youre best of friends, you best believe by the end youre gonna be inseparable, with the same loves, the same hates, the same desires, the same work ethic, the same amount of diligence, and the same amount of loyalty. So... yeah. Thats about it. Be best friends with Christ.
THINGS THAT MADE ME LAUGH:
- We've found a bunch of creepy men lately, mostly over the phone. So anyway I've learned a couple of bad words this week.
- One thing I didnt know about Biron is that hes a little ladies man apparently. We introduced him to his teacher at church, and the first thing he asked was if there was any chicas in the class. I said :0 oh no. Anyway so there were chicas and he did in fact flirt with them in the middle of the lesson. But he learned new gospel stuff too so well take it.
- In the middle of said lesson while Biron was flirting, the teacher told all the kids that Hna Gentry was from Russia and I was from Taiwan. Do I know why? No. Did they believe it? Yes. Am I one to break their heart? No. So I just said yeah its pretty close to Taiwan only a few oceans away and they were like WOAHHHHH.
- Our toilet broke. Kinda awkward.
- We give out English homework once a week to the people who come to our english class. Look at the pictures for one answer. We saw that at about 6:36am and we absolutely cried we laughed so hard.
MILAGROS:
- Biron came to church AND we asked him if he wanted to be baptized and he said YES!! He's the best ever. He's so excited to learn more and be baptized and mostly to get the priesthood, because he wants to improve the world and make it a better place with the power of God. Haha I love him. There was some stuff that went down this week that we didn't know if he still wanted to/could learn more, so it's actually a huge huge miracle that he was able to come yesterday!! Yay for God's goodness. The whole time he kept saying everything was so tender and so cute and he loved the chapel, and then the bread came around for the Sacrament, and he said the spanish version of "woah this is DELICIOUS" and then with the water he said "EVERYTHING HERE IS DELICIOUS I LOVE THIS WATER" so anyway lets all try and be more like Biron. Love the sacrament and love the goodness of it, and how delicious it is for the soul and I guess for the tastebuds too. YAY FOR REPENTANCE!
- We went to a members house this week and it was SO fun! They live out in the countryside, with like a bunch of horses and dogs and cats and their whole entire family lives there, like aunts and uncles and grandparents and they all just hang out in their several houses all next to each other. They spend their days fixing up cars and working and riding horses. Living the good life. Their life is like a fun lil movie, and their dinner table especially, there was a ton of different chairs and everyone was just reaching over each other for the food and talking and laughing and it was so amazing. AND the milagro part of it? They had lemon trees. And I mentioned I liked lemonade, even before I knew they had lemon trees, so then they sent us out to pick lemons and told me to make lemonade, and as a MIRACLE it was SO good. Do I feel Gods love through lemonade? Maybe probably definitely. Did I feel like God was looking out for me when they said I could make lemonade and then they let me take a grocery bag FULL of lemons home? Yeah no for sure. Hes so nice to me. And lemonade is so good.
- We refound our friend Enzo! He had been our friend for a while now, but we havent ever visited his house while hes been there, but we finally caught him while he was home and he told us he wants to start meeting with us again! He seems like such a cool guy and its really cool to hear his story of how he has seen God in his life.
- Our members are the best. I literally dont have words for how good they are. They feed us every day, they randomly send us hype up texts, they always are sending us the lil kissy emoji haha, and when I got to the area I was told a lot of the members didnt like the missionaries, and they were always nice but they have been SO good the past couple of weeks. Giving us all sorts of referrals for their friends who want to hear the gospel, joking around and laughing with us (and at us a fair amount too) and just all around so good. I never want to leave this area. They are incredible and have SO much faith and goodness.

Love you all!! Have the bestest
week in the whole world and go tell Christ you love Him, and then make
Him your best friend. Chau chau!!
