I'm not sad... it's just a quirk
YO YO YO how yall doing??? Life is just vibey here in Canelones. There are people to teach, members who are good, and some weird people on the street. A good mix of all the things a missionary needs.
MILAGRITOS:
- We had so many good lessons this week! One of my favoritos, was with our friend Biron, who's 11 years old and just a mini adult. His whole family are members of the church, they just dont come super often, and somehow he knows a whole lot about the Catholic church and its practices, so it's really funny to teach him cause he's always telling us what he knows, and I have no idea how he knows that stuff. Please pray that he can come to church so that he can get baptized!
- We taught a lesson to a lady named Yanina, who is so amazing, she has some family who are members and is so intrigued by the Book of Mormón and our gospel. Please pray for Yanina! (And remember we're in Uruguay so it's Shanina)
- I'm still alive. There was a couple times this week it wasn't lookin like that was gonna be the case. AKA a member asked us to get her tube TV off a really high shelf and it was really heavy. Not like I'm in a sketchy area and a man pulled out a knife. (Or maybe that.)
- We had a mission conference!! It was so fun to see all my friends again, and they gave us pizza. Woo woo. Elder Costa (in the seventy) came to speak to us, and him and his wife are seriously so amazing. We learned so
THINGS THAT MADE ME LAUGH:
- We got to do service for a lady in our ward, and we painted her bedroom from lime green to light green. And she hadn't moved most of the stuff in 20 years (hence, TV needing to be moved) and so there was some WILD stuff in that room. Everything from gnomes to lil crocheted mushrooms to cats to A LOT of spiders (who will stay there for another 20 years probably since several of them may have gotten painted into the walls) and lots of photos and random pots of soil. Quite an adventure honestly. She fed us some BOMB homemade pizza though. TBH I have no idea why this is in the things that made me laugh section cause I wasn't laughing a whole lot, but now I'm too lazy to change it so instead I typed out the whole thing to let yall know. Hope that's cool.
- One of the hermanas that lives with me, Hermana Gentry, is really good at psycho analyzing people. Like. Creepy good. And there was a misunderstanding and our van driver after the mission conference didn't bring us home so we were in the van for like 2 hours with a bunch of the elders and so she psycho analyzed them and they were all very scared.
- One night Hermana Gentry was VERY focused on washing the dishes and the whole house was quiet and I walked over to the kitchen to tell her something but I guess she didn't hear me, until I was just standing there and I genuinely have never seen anyone jump that bad in my life. She threw a bowl at me.
- Hermana Gentry like actually starts crying when she laughs hard. Like not just a tear or two, like she actually looks like she's sobbing.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
Something I have been thinking a lot about this week is LOVE. I seriously love love, and all the different ways people are able to show it. And then I got thinking, I want to spend all of my days doing things out of love. And then I realized, that LITERALLY everything I do every day, can be done out of love. What if every single thing we did, we did out of love? What if we prayed, solely because we love the Lord? What if we texted our friends, solely out of love for them? We get to love God and the Savior every single day. And love every single other person in this world. Every day. HOW COOL IS THAT?? So please go out there and become more like Christ and love more people, and love people more.
Speaking of, I LOVE YOU ALL!! Turn to the Lord this week and love the heck out of the people around you!!
Love, Hermana Allen
