TWENTY EIGHT

Hey everyone!! (I'm running out of intros to my emails and I'm only 1/3 of the way into my mission so if any missionaries wanna send over some good ice breakers, attention grabbers, or hooks (as my 8th grade English teacher would say) feel free to send those on over). Anyway, it was a good week! Full of good laughs, good miracles, and a whole lot of God showing His goodness. Life is good. And yet again I dont have a lot of time so this is a shorter email.

THINGS THAT MADE ME LAUGH:

  • Adding on to my "things that didn't make me laugh but it might entertain some of yall even if it's not funny to me" I found out this week there are TWENTY EIGHT ways to say the words "was/were" in Spanish. In English. There are two. Was. And were. And in Spanish, there are twenty eight. Two is too many. Twenty eight is SO MUCH too many. Anyway so yeah that's horrible don't get called on a Spanish mission yall. (Literally love it so much but also TWENTY EIGHT MY GUYS)

MILAGRITOS:

  • We saw a million little tiny miracles but this weeks big one was stake conference! We were able to hear from our mission president TWICE which was so fun! He is truly amazing and I am so grateful for him. Missionary work is really so incredibly important, and the idea that I get to be the one that participates in it is mind blowing. The Lord really calls on the weak to do His work. So incredibly grateful for His goodness, and for Christs atonement.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:

I have felt the spirit SO many times this week. It's really truly amazing how the Lord gives us EXACTLY what we need EXACTLY when we need it. At Stake Conference on Saturday night, we were singing our opening hymn, I Know that my Redeemer Lives. And I have always loved this song, but it really struck me on Saturday. I don't know if it was because it was in Spanish or because the Lord was just being extra kind to let me feel the spirit so strongly, but as we sang the words "Él vive, mi amigo fiel; me ama para siempre Él. Él vive y siempre cantaré: Él vive, mi Señor y Rey. Por Él la vida yo tendré; la muerte yo conquistaré. Mi gran mansión preparará, y viviré con Él allá." The Spirit was so tangible. I truly KNOW that my Redeemer lives. And to add to that, a quote from one of the speakers at the conference says, "The Lord needs EACH ONE OF US, and each one of us needs THE LORD". HOW TRUE IS THAT?? He really does need every single one of us in order to do His work, and we would be miserably hopeless without Him, every one of us. I am SO incredibly grateful for the Lord, and for everything He has done/is doing for me.

Love you all so much!! - Hermana Allen
